Freedom Friday

Fridays are always the best days for me. Even though my weekends are busy, I know that I can do everything on my own schedule. I finally have the freedom I love. So, Fridays will become Freedom Fridays.

Rock 'N Roll Fridays

This Friday is Duran Duran. Song Titles are in BOLD CAPS, lyrics are in bold, and questions in italics. Credit to http://jjatff.blogspot.com/2010/09/duran-duran.html for Rock 'N Roll Fridays.

1. WILD BOYS: “You got sirens for a welcome, there’s bloodstain for your pain and your telephone been ringin while you’re dancing in the rain” If you have been in a car accident, what happened? Never been in one big enough to write about here. Both times I was not moving and the other car simply backed into me.

2. UNION OF THE SNAKE: “There’s a fine line drawing my senses together and I think it’s about to break. If I listen close I can hear them singers, oh oh oh! Voices in your body coming thru on the radio, ho ho.” Do you believe people hear voices or have guardian angels? I believe in both, but to certain limitations. It is hard for me to think that people here voices if they are NOT schizophrenic and gaurdian angels are only lost loved ones looking over you, not random angels from "Heaven".

3. SAVE A PRAYER: “You saw me standing by the wall, corner of a main street and the lights were flashin on your windowsill. All alone ain’t much fun, so you’re lookin for the thrill and you know just what it takes and where to go." Where is a happening place for you to go? In this town, nowhere! Home is the most happening place for me.

4. RIO: “I’ve seen you on the beach and I’ve seen you on TV two of a billion stars, it means so much to me, like a birthday or a pretty view but then I’m sure you know it’s just for you”. Who do you admire based solely on their appearance? Absolutely no one, honestly.

5. THE REFLEX: “You gone too far this time, but I’m dancing on the valentine. I tell you somebody’s fooling around with my chances on the dangerline. I’ll cross that bridge when I find it another day to make my stand". What is the worst thing a lover has done that you forgave them for? Getting angry and overrreacting. Saying we were through when he did not mean it.

6. ORDINARY WORLD: “Well now pride’s gone out the window cross the rooftops, run away, left me in the vacuum of my heart. What is happening to me? Crazy, some’d say, 'Where is my friend when I needed you most?' Gone away.” Do you still keep in touch with your best friend from high school/university? Nope.

7. NEW MOON ON MONDAY: “Last time la luna. I light my torch and wave it for the New moon on Monday and a firedance through the night. I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite.” Does the full moon make you act crazy? Aboslutely not. It makes me think of all the people it does make crazy and how idiotic they are.

8. KHANADA: “Don't play with me, I've nothing to lose Khanada I'll get by. It ain't no ones day, coming so soon Khanada I'll get by. I dont believe in dragons or blues Khanada I'll get by. I don't believe in nobody's rules Khanada I'll get by” Do you believe in dragons or blues? Yes I do.

9. HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF: “In touch with the ground. I'm on the hunt, I'm after you. Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd and I'm hungry like the wolf” What do you smell like right now? Don't know. Haven't done anything in particular to smell. I guess I smell like my self?

10. HOLD BACK THE RAIN: “Okay go off and wander. I'm guilty just the same. Sometimes you're needed badly, so please come back again” What are you recently guilty about? Nothing that I know of.

11. GIRLS ON FILM: “There's a camera rolling on her back on her back and I sense the rhythms humming in a frenzy all the way down her spine” If offered 1 Million dollars, would you pose nude or appear in a porn film? Yes, but no one would ever watch it. Pretty sure I would have to return that mil!

12. ELECTRIC BARBARELLA: “People say they heard about our deviation. But you never looked so good. Wear the fake fur for me and put on your mystery” Have you ever worn real fur or would you if it were a gift? I have worn my mother's mink coat once or twice around the house. IF she gave to me, I would wear it all the time.

13. COME UNDONE: “Mine, immaculate dream, made breath and skin, I've been waiting for you, Signed, with a home tattoo, Happy birthday to you was created for you” Do you have a tattoo and if so, please describe it. If you don’t, describe what you would get if you changed your mind about it. I have three. One is a heart with wings on my right foot, I have Alex Grey artwork on my left foot and a phoenix on my right calf.

Top 5
Top 5 recent musical discoveries: bands, songs, albums, or a mix!
  • Phoenix
  • The Dead Weather
  • Stefano Barone (see below)
These last two are musical discoveries, but deal with Trey and I
  • Trey really wants to learn how to play the guitar.
  • I would love to take drum lessons.

Friday 5: Nagging
  1. What kinds of nagging injuries do you have? Unfortunately, quite a few. Both my knees are bum, my shoulder is always giving me hell and I am pretty sure I have carpel tunnel in my right wrist. Yay me!
  2. What long-procrastinated task is nagging at you lately? L.A.U.N.D.R.Y. 'Nought said.
  3. In what way have you been a nag to someone else? I don't think I have been. I am sure there are those that would disagree, but I pretty much keep to myself whether I like what you are doing or not.
  4. Who in your life is a world-class nag? My boyfriend, Trey, on certain things I do. It's ok though, I deserve it!
  5. Nag is such an ugly word. What would be a nicer way to describe someone who exhibits nagging tendencies? I think this word is just fine. If you make it nicer than the word will not have its effect.

Booking Through and Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am thankful for my brains and ability to figure things out for myself. There are so many stupid, oblivious people out there that it is a little scary at times. The worst are those that have no common sense and would rather have things handed to them than use their brains to figure it out. Just today someone posted this on their FB. Must say I love it and agree totally.

Booking Through Thursday

“I couldn’t sleep a wink, so I just read and read, day and night … it was there I began to divide books into day books and night books,” she went on. “Really, there are books meant for daytime reading and books that can be read only at night.”
- ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera, p. 103.
Do you divide your books into day and night reads? How do you decide?

I don't do this at all. I read what I want, when I want. I do not have nightmares when reading a suspense or scary novel, like some I know, and I can never put a book down regardless if it is the middle of the day or late at night. I guess my reading habits are about as free of choice and time as you can get.

You are going to a....

1. Business meeting
2. First Date meeting
No normal dinner and a movie stuff. Dinner is a must, but some where fun. Like The Melting Pot, Texas de Brazil, The Time Machine, Medieval Times or some where equally fun in your area. Afterwards Dave and Busters or Texas Motor Speedway (adult go kart playground). If your date cannot have fun then this should be where yall go your separate ways!

3. Coffee House with your best friend

Do you prefer a collegiate bookstore atmosphere with coffee and WiFi or a fancy restaurant with a beautiful display of expensive desserts? Oh. And what is your favorite coffee flavor? I really do not like the idea of either of these. Collegiate cafes seem to be too preppy and a fancy restaurant obviously too stuffy for my taste. But, you cannot go wrong with free WiFi! My favorite coffee flavor would have to be White Chocolate Mocha or just plain French Roast, strong and black.

4. Bar/Pub with friendsWhat is your poison?
Beer and liquor baby! Bud Light and shots anyone?

5. Your old high school for a 25 yr. reunionWho would you like to see the most after all these years?
The only ones I would be interested in seeing would be my teachers. Too bad they usually do not show up. I could not stand most people in high school and with FB and Myspace nowadays. who needs to pay for a reunion when you can spy for free???

6. Blogger meet up
What is your fantasy blog meet up with your favorite bloggers? Where would you go and what would you do?

Don't have any fellow bloggers really. But, if I did it would consist of something quite similar to the date question (see above).
7. Google Search Bar
What are you searching for today?

Nothing yet. Shocking! Soon will be searching for wheel bearing repair, how much, and can I/we do it my/our selves.

8. Your favorite tattoo artist at the parlor
What is your next tattoo going to be and why?
I would really like some kind of tree. I love trees especially when the sky is dark with rain, the wind is blowing, and you see the two different shades of the leaves, the top and underside. Beautiful!

9. AA or Al Anon Meeting
You are the designated driver to this function. What advice would you give a room full of folks who desperately need inspiration?

Quit it. Life is too short to be doing this to yourselves. How many people have you lost because of it? you want to lose more? It will never make you happy. Find out what does and stick with it.
10. A video podcast meeting with your mother or significant other who doesn't know about your blog
Tell us how you would introduce them to the blog that is you.
Haha, well if it was my mother I would simply tell her that I had an online journal. It is called a blog. She can find it here if she ever turns on her computer!
For my significant other I could go into detail and he would probably help me do some aesthetics on here.

Do you prefer a structured agenda with a time frame or a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants brainstorming session?
I am all about structure, but I think that brainstorming should go on at some point in the meeting. How are you going to keep things new, fresh, and innovative if no one brainstorms?

Where are we going and what are we going to do? (Yes, I said you!)

Tuesday Tip and Tale

Tuesday Tip

Take what you want today because it might be gone tomorrow.

Tuesday Tale

Today's tale will be about what I did today. My first day at Santa Rita went smooth once I got there. Getting up at 6AM was, to say the least, not so smooth. I am praying it gets easier. I am sure it will. It will require a little bit of lifestyle change. No longer can I wait until 10PM to do homework. My lazy time between school and work is going to become homework time, unfortunately. If I can make mself do this, everything will be ok.

Santa Rita is a pretty nice school from what I can tell. My mentor teacher is young and seems to enjoy what she does. I am thankful for this because I did not want some veteran teacher that has turned passive and sour about her career choice. I vow to resign if I ever start becoming that way.

The kiddos are as well behaved as you can expect from fourth graders and I am thankful for this too. At least I will not have to worry about discipline tremendously.

My partner Katy seems to be just like me in a lot a ways. We are both quiet and have some of the same ideas. This can be awesome at all times, but it may hurt us sometimes when we are trying to think outside of the box. Looks like we may have to get some outsider opinions, so stay tuned! I may be borrowing your brains!

All in all, it was a good day. I filed some homework for our teacher and as she said "Got a taste for what most of teaching is about...filing, planning, organizing, cleaning." Lol.

Was a good morning and a wonderful afternoon because I finshed it off with a nap with my love, Trey.

Now here is to a good week, month, year and life... margarita time! Bottoms up!

Monday Movie Meme and Curious as a Cat

Monday Movie Meme- Biopics

There are lots of movies these days that tell the stories about the lives of real people. Which ones can you come up with?

Will Smith as Muhammed Ali in Ali
Audrey Tatau as Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in Coco Before Chanel
Tom Hulce as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Amadeus
Meryl Streep as Julia Childs in Julie and Julia
Dennis Quaid in as Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire
Russell Crowe as John Nash in A Beautiful Mind
Johnny Depp as George Jung in Blow
Salma Hayek as Frida Kahlo in Frida

Curious as a Cat

1) When was the last time you stepped on something that really hurt? Just this morning. A nice, pointy rock decided to hop in to my flip flop. The indentation is still on my heel!
2) What is the most unusual food you have tried for the first time recently? Nothing lately. But, the most unusual food would have to be when I was a kid... we where on a cruise and I tried eating (Broiled not fried) frog legs. NEVER AGAIN!
3) Describe the one who got away. Have not had one get away, yet. However, a couple of weekends ago, we were fishing and the little slimy shit chomped on my line, wriggled off, and ate my whole worm.
4) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.

I think of some one finding this picture in their attic's best kept treasures. I can see something like this being in my great grandmother's trunk or even in my grandmother's attic. Pictures like this make me wonder about what happened afterwards. Who did she marry? Were they happy? Did they have any kids to pass this picture down to?

Sunday Seven and Sunday Stealing

Sunday Seven

Name seven Americans you feel should be featured on our paper money.

1. My mother on the $1 bill because she is always #1.
2. My PawPaw on the $2 bill because he is just a memory now (much like the $2 bill).
3. Bob Marley on the $20, just 'cause (he wasn't really American, but who is anyways? We all came from somewhere in the beginning).
4. Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, and Travis Meeks on the $5 because the best '90s grunge faces deserve to be represented.
5. Stephen King on the $10 for his amazing imagination and all the times he has kept me up at night scared shitless from his novels.
6. Mickey Mouse on the $50. Why not?
7. My friends on the $100 bill. Don't worry, they will fit. I don't have many...

Sunday Stealing

1. :::sniff, sniff::: Is the dog in the house? Don't have one...thanks for the reminder. :(
2. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received? Simply be myself.
3. What's the worst experience you've ever had involving alcohol? Being three months away from my 21st birthday and being wasted at Whataburger with a cop two tables away. I know...hardcore.
4. What's the worst thing you've ever done to another person? Let them down severely...sorry mom.
5. Who do you think started the concept of memes? Some really talkative, creative, popular, social person that I probably would hate.
6. Give a song title or line that describes how you are feeling right now.  Can't think of one sorry.
7. What's your favorite search engine? Yahoo!, Google, Ask, Bing? or something else? Depends on what I need it for.
8. If Paul is the Cute One and John is the Smart One and George is the Quiet One and Ringo is the Funny One, which Beatle are you? Hmmm, don't know, I can be all four. But most of the time I would be John George. :)
9. The democratic government decides that, not only do we have to share our money with people who choose not to work, we also have to share our children with those who do not want to ruin their bodies with being pregnant. Which child do you give up? What a ridiculous question. I would illegally smuggle my family out of the country at this point.
10. When should you procrastinate - now or later? That is what I am doing so I guess now.
11. What is your favorite fast food? Whataburger or Taco Bueno
12. What was your favourite game as a child? Poker, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and Clue. Nothing has changed.
13. Why terrible twos have to be terrible The kid wants to walk, wants to be you, wants to become independent.
14. Describe your favorite family member. My mother. She is always there for me and amazes me every time I get to talk to her. She always has a funny story to tell me when I call. I hate living away from home.
15. What does your favorite breakfast consist of? I love all breakfast food. If I had my way, it would be badass waffles, German pancakes, scrambled eggs, and fruit every morning.
16. What food is better the day after it was made? Anything Italian and anything from a crockpot.
17. What was your last big purchase? Textbooks....lame.
18. When was the last time you kissed someone and really enjoyed it? This afternoon before he left for work.
19. Why are there memes? So us noncreative people will have something to put in our blogs everyday.
20. Described yourself using two words that rhyme. (i.e. fuddy-duddy) silly willy
21. If you were given the option of a "do-over" in life .. would you take it? At this point,   in my short 23 years, no.
22. What movie makes (or has made) you cry? What touched you about it? The Notebook among many others. The couples love in The Notebook is just beyond beautiful.
23. What is one big mistake that you did in your life? And what did you do to make it right? Ummm, guess I haven't had one truly big enough to remember.
24. When Life Gives You Lemons, What Do You Do With Them? Make lemonade, duh! No, I wish. I take them as they come and hope my face isn't too sour looking.
25. How different are you in real life as compared to the online identity you have created for yourself? I am the same except I can talk to someone better on the internet than in person. I feel more comfortable writing, whether it is active or passive.
26. Do you know what your parents would have named you if you had been born the opposite sex? Oh my god. Yes. I really hope it was a joke though. My parents went to Vegas pretty close to my mother's due date. They decided that if I was born a boy (they opted to not know my sex until I was here) while they were in Vegas, I would be named Poker (first name) Chip (middle). I know my mother would not have done it, but she did not even have a definite boy name picked out yet so you never know...

Kick Off

Well, here we go. My first blog attempt. I doubt I will keep up with this thing every day. It is not that I do not want to, I just may not have the time. Some things might just be a little more important every once in a while. I will try not to bore you with my day to day life. Although, it would be easy to post every day if I did that. I do the same damn thing every day.

And that brings me to the other point I wanted to make. I will cuss and I will post my own opinions on here. If you do not like it, simply do not read, please. Or you can read every day, just keep your passionate beliefs/values/comments to yourself because I am just as passionate with mine. I am not here to make enemies or argue.

Also, I am not doing this to be grammatically correct. I am here to simply write and do something that I do not find as a chore.

Like I said before, I do not want this to be an account of my day to day life, unless something awesome happens. And with my boring like in this boring town, you don't have to count on much. So, I have decided to do certain things on certain days. I pulled most, if not all, of these off the 'net and other bloggers. I will give them credit when I figure out the best way to accomplish that every time.

So, with no further ado, just like the name of my blog and my URL reads... this is My Words, My Thoughts, My Life-- Raw- Uncensored- and Unchecked. Let's get this shit started.
